We welcome involvement from anyone who is interested in the landscape and wildlife habitat in the area around Leadburn and the Moorfoot hills.

Our main focus at the moment is opposing a proposed Wind Turbine development near Leadburn.

Spurlens Rig Turbines

Spurlens Rig lies between the Pentland and Moorfoot Hills, just south of Leadburn in an area of high landscape and environmental value.

The proposal, featuring Turbines 126m high would be highly visible from a number of major roads (A701/A702/A703), which are the main tourist routes into the Scottish Borders.

Spurlens Rig is also visible from the Pentland Hills, a Regional Park and designated area of great landscape beauty. In fact the Turbines will be visible from Edinburgh and Fife!

The Turbines will also of course tower over a large number of local homes.
